Glen Ray Begley of Bowie


Glen Ray Begley, 78, of Bowie, passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 5 at the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta with Dr. Keva Green, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Begley was born Dec. 24, 1936 in Wichita Falls to Woodrow W. and Doris (Lamb) Begley. He married Nancy (Carpenter) on May 23, 1996 in Bowie. Mr. Begley worked as a butcher for Central Packing Company for 30 years and Texas Best Meats prior to retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Henrietta.

Mr. Begley is preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Bowie; one son, Chris Begley and wife Tracy of Bowie; two daughters, Melissa Roberson and husband Billy Ray of Henrietta, and D.D. Rhine of Wichita Falls; two step-daughters, Carol Mann and husband Danny of Bowie, and Beth Briggs and husband Bobby of Runaway Bay; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday from 6-7 p.m.
