Herman Lewis Symons, 86, passed away Dec. 16, 2014 in Fort Worth.
Graveside service is at 1 p.m., Dec. 18 In the Bluegrove Cemetery with Rev. Randy Osborn, pastor of First Baptist Church of Henrietta, officiating.
Mr. Symons was born Aug. 12, 1928 in Henrietta. He graduated from Henrietta High School in 1945. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1946. He married Nancy Ann Tate in Henrietta on Nov. 11, 1949. Their first son, Herman Alvin Symons, was born in 1950. Herman was an aircraft electrician in the USAF for 20 years, retiring in 1969. After retiring, Herman, Nancy, and Alvin settled in Benbrook, Texas. Alvin preceded him in death on Dec. 7, 1971. Shortly after Alvin’s death, they were blessed with another family, adopting 3 children: Robert Aaron Symons 1 1/2 yrs old, Diane Marie Symons 6 months old, and Jeffrey Alan Symons at 5 days. Herman worked at Lockheed and he retired in 1991.
He is also preceded in death by two sisters, Geraldine Lane and Grace Bailey; and 1 brother, Charles Symons.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Ann Symons of Benbrook; son Robert Aaron Symons and wife Sheila of Fort Worth, Son Jeffrey Alan Symons of Fort Worth, daughter Diane Marie Symons of Benbrook; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 17 at Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta. Memorial can be made to a charity of choice.
