Norman ‘Pete’ Olson of Petrolia


Norman “Pete” Olson, 78, of Petrolia, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 7, 2014.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12 at the Petrolia Methodist Church.

Mr. Olson was born on June 20, 1936 in Minneapolis, Minn., to Arnold and Mildred (Mendenhall) Olson. He served in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. He married Audrey Rhem on Nov. 6, 1958 in Minneapolis and he worked in construction in remodeling.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Richard and Wayne Olson.

Survivors include his wife, Audrey Olson of Petrolia; three sons, Eugene Olson of Andover, Minn., D. Darryl Olson of Petrolia, and Norman Olson II of Amarillo; a daughter, Deanna Caton of Petrolia; one brother, Dennis Olson; one sister, Marilyn; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
