Bernard “Earl” Hathaway of Wichita Falls


Bernard “Earl” Hathaway, 86, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 29 at the First Christian Church in Henrietta with Rev. Howard Walker, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls on Monday, Dec. 1, 2014 at 1 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home in Henrietta.

Mr. Hathaway was born Aug. 5, 1928 in Brunswick, Ga., to the late Benjamin Hathaway and Lynn (Pacetti) Hathaway. He served in the U.S. Air Force and married Beverly Hathaway in 1950. After retirement from the U.S. Air Force, he graduated from Midwestern University to pursue a teaching career. He taught at Alamo Elementary School in Wichita Falls for 15 years. Mr. Hathaway was a pilot, golfer, bowler and a master bridge player.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

Survivors include five sons, Martin Hathaway and wife Phyllis, Raleigh Hathaway and wife Nathalie, Ronald Hathaway, David Hathaway, and Barry Hathaway; three daughters, Cheryl Schroeder and husband Scott, Suzanne Johnson and husband James, Carol Thorn and husband Greg; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the Human Society of Wichita Falls, 4360 Old Iowa Park Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76305.
