James P. Halter of Henrietta


James P. “Horsefly” Halter, 70, of Henrietta, died on Monday, Nov. 3, 2014.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 in the chapel of Owens and Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Owens and Brumley.

Mr. Halter was born Aug. 21, 1944 in Amarillo to Robert Relf and Alma Marie (Evers) Halter. He worked as a tailor.

He preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Glen Halter; and a sister, Roselle Stubber.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Halter of Henrietta; a daughter, Jennifer Westfall and husband Robert of Germany; two sons, Eddie Halter and wife Sherry of Wichita Falls, and Josh Halter and wife Jessica of Henrietta; five brothers, Ed Halter of Austin, Gary Halter and wife Linda of College Station, Sam Halter and wife Carol of Paris, Ky., Jack Halter and wife Jean of Versailles, Ky., and Mike Halter of Henrietta; one sister, Janet Boatright and husband Randy of Houston; and 11 grandchildren.
