George Weitzel III of Henrietta


George Weitzel III, 62, of Henrietta, passed away on Friday, Oct. 31, 2014.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Nov. 4 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mr. Weitzel was born on May 26, 1952 in Camden, N.J., to George Gilbert Weitzel II and Elaine Allias (Jefferis) Weitzel. He married Charlene Ford on Dec. 15, 2009 in Wichita Falls. Mr. Weitzel served in the U.S. Air Force and was retired from PPG where he worked for 17 years, and Magic Air in Wichita Falls, where he worked for 17 years. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church and coached football at the Boys Club.

Mr. Weitzel is preceded in death by his parents; former wife Kathy; one sister, Bonnie Elliot of New Jersey; and one brother, Dale Weitzel.

Survivors include his wife Charlene Weitzel of Henrietta; three step-sons, Ralph Gates, Jr. of Henrietta, Eddie Turnbow of Lawton, Okla., and John Turnbow; two brothers, Robert Weitzel and wife Suzanne of Burkburnett, and Mark Weitzel of New Jersey; four sisters, April Malave and husband Angelo of New Jersey, Patricia Cooper of Florida, Jill Weitzel of New Jersey, and Cynthia Schaffer and husband Eddie of Florida; and one daughter, Jennifer Lynn Smith of Abilene.
