Lady Pirates close district with win, prepare for playoffs


Petrolia’s Lady Pirates will face Albany in a Class 2A Region I bi-district match in Graham at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday Nov. 4.

Tuesday, the Lady Pirates eared a win over Vernon Northside in three sets, 25-19, 25-19, 25-19. Abbie Ablia led the squad with 12 kills.

Tuesday, Oct. 21, Petrolia fell to Windthorst in three, 20-25, 14-25, 18-25. Ablia had seven kills, while Sidney Mobley had five digs.

Saturday, Oct. 18, Petrolia defeated Electra in three, 25-18, 25-19, 25-22. Bunch led the team with seven kills, followed by Mobley with five kills. Kayla Heflin finished with four digs.

Petrolia finished with regular season at 19-10 and 8-4 in district play.
