Lloyd Kenneth Coker, 65, of La Porte, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014 in Houston.
A memorial service was held at noon Monday, Oct. 20 at Niday Funeral Home of Houston with Pastor Micah Sutton officiating.
Mr. Coker was born Feb. 19, 1949 in Vernon to Lloyd and Frances (Ford) Coker. He graduated from Midway High School in 1968. On April 5, 2012, he married his wife Jean. Ken was employed as a social worker for the State of Texas until his retirement. Ken also called bingo at the local bingo halls in Pasadena for the last 20 years. He was an avid bowler, he also enjoyed listening to country music, drinking coffee on his patio, cooking on his barbecue grill, watching his Texans football team and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his father Lloyd Coker of Deer Creek, and his mother, Frances Coker of Henrietta.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Coker of La Porte; one daughter, Cassie Vogel of Deer Creek; four sons, Cory Coker of Tombal, Kenny Coker of Delray, Fla., Michael Terry of Pasadena, and Brian Terry of Boyd; one sister, Cathy Talley of Henrietta; two brothers, Mike Coker of Deer Creek, and David Coker of Deer Creek; and nine grandchildren.
