Led by medalists Emily Longoria, Abby Zamzow and Addison Hoff, the Henrietta Junior High girls cross country squad took first place in the team standings at Saturday’s Midwestern State University-Strohman Dental Stampeded Invitational Meet at Hawk Ridge Golf Course in Wichita Falls.
Longoria completed the 2.5-mile course in 14 minutes, 50 seconds for a gold medal, followed by teammates Abby Zamzow in second place with 15:17 and Addison Hoff in third place with 15:20. Kirsten Ervin finished in eighth place with a time of 17:13. Natalie Streeter finished ninth with a time of 17:23. Kylee Halter rounded out the top 10 runners with a time of 17:36. Brooklyn McMurry finished 14th with 18:14.
Also competing for the junior high Lady Cats were Kaci Williams, 20:23; Kylee Erickson, 21:14; Isabella Garcia, 21:16; Daniela Garcia, 21:29; Viviana Garcia, 23:28; and Bailey Ervin with a time of 23:51.
Daniel Wimberley took second place in the junior high boys 2.5-mile course to lead the Bearcat team with a time of 14:10, while Holt Chambers placed 11th with 15:51.
Also competing for the junior high Bearcats, Ethan Ashley finished with a time of 14:10 and Joshua Patin finish in 19:29.
In the varsity girls 2.5-mile course, Lady Cat Tee Lee Cook finished with a time of 21:47; followed by teammates Madeline Koetter, 24:14; Kelton Matthews, 25:36; Michaela Hedrick, 26:00; and Nicole Bell, 27:07.
Bearcat Hunter Smith finished the boys 3.1-mile race with a time of 23:52.
