Ron Simmons of Henrietta


Ronald Simmons, 76, of Henrietta, died Sept. 5, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the Cowboy Church in Henrietta with Rev. Larry Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Cowboy Church Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Simmons was born Aug. 2, 1938 in Chelsea, Okla., to Eldon and Trixie Pearl (Bacon) Simmons. Ron was a long time resident of Henrietta, where he attended the Cowboy Church. Mr. Simmons servedin the U.S. Army. He managed the Clay County Country Club, worked in sales at Longhorn Chevrolet, Four Stars Auto Ranch and John Speer Ford. He just recently retired as a bus driver for Henrietta ISD.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Ronda Cesarani; and a brother, Charles Simmons.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Pat Simmons of Henrietta; a daughter, Tammy Woods; three brothers, Melvin Simmons and wife Francis, Darrel Simmons and wife Kay, and Roger Simmons and wife Jeannette of Richmond; two sisters-in-law, Lee and husband Henrey Patton of Miami, Okla., and Mary Cecil of Blanchard, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6:30-7:30 Monday, Sept. 8 at Davis Funeral Home.
