Bennett, Burkhart lead Lady Cats in three-game sweep

Seniors Taylor Bennett and Sierra Burkhart led Henrietta to a three-game sweep of Hirschi on the volleyball court Tuesday.

Bennett scored 11 kills and five aces in the 25-15, 25-13, 25-16 win, followed by Burkhart with 10 kills. Bennett also had nine digs, while Burkhart picked up six.

Kamryn Weaver scored five kills for the Lady Cats, followed by Becca Riggins with four kills. Callie Page, Hollie Thomas and Addie McDonnell scored two aces each. Page also had two kills for the day, while Thomas had 15 digs and McDonnell 11. At libero, freshman Lizzie Riordan picked up 17 digs and setter Kenzie Kirk had 29 assists.

Despite a big performance from Bennett, Henrietta suffered a narrow four-set loss to Archer City on Saturday.

Bennett finished with 16 kills, six aces, 26 digs and six assisted blocks against the Wildcats.

Burkhart scored eight kills and had two solo blocks and an assisted block. Freshman Maddie Brown scored four kills and two aces, with one solo and one assisted block. Thomas and Weaver scored three kills each.  Brown also had three aces and 13 digs. Kirk finished with 36 set assists, 12 digs, one solo and four assisted blocks. Riordan had 18 digs for the day.
