Looking for Borgman family connection

Dear Editor,

I made a promise to my grandfather (Gene Johnson), before he died, that I would find information about his grandmother on his mother’s side. I have tried everything I can think of, but my great great-grandmother has me pulling out my hair!

My 2x great grandmother is Anna Brunkin Borgman, married to George Borgman who settled in Clay County around 1890. They had seven children, Ida, Louise, Frank, Edward, Lillie, Ernest and John. The problem is on some of her children’s death certificates they have her maiden named spelled differently (Burkin, Brunker, Brunken, Bruncan, Burken, Brunkie ). I have records of her after she is married to George (according to my notes they married in 1880 in Illinois), but I have nothing before. I would love to know her parents names, siblings names, where she grew up. If anyone has a picture of her and her husband I would love to know what they looked like.

I am Suzie Mellott Smith, my grandfather is Eugene “Gene” Johnson 1901-2001, my great grandma is Louise Borgman Johnson – 1882-1975, she married, my great grandpa Pete Johnson on Feb. 18 1907 in Texas, they moved to Ogallalla, Neb. Louise’s mom is the one I am looking for information on, Anna Burkin (?) Borgman, 1857-1948.

I would love to hear from anyone that might have information about Anna Burkin Borgman.
