Eddie McGowan of Buffalo Springs


George “Eddie” McGowen, 66, of Buffalo Springs, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 2 in Buffalo Springs.

Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 4 at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery with B.D. Wynn officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. McGowen was born Feb. 22, 1948 in Bowie, TX to George Lee and Thelma (White) McGowen. Eddie married Cindy Humphrey on Oct. 11, 1969 in Buffalo Springs. He was an Oil Field Driller and a member of the Henrietta Cowboy Church. He loved hunting, fishing and horses.

Mr. McGowen is preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Deanna Bernhardt.

Survivors include his wife, Cindy McGowen of Buffalo Springs; one daughter, Michelle Barnes and her husband Millard of Wichita Falls; one son, George “Shorty” McGowen and wife Ashley of Wichita Falls; and one grandson.

Visitation will be at the Davis Funeral Home Sunday, Aug. 3, from 5-6:30 p.m.
