A Henrietta man will serve 18 years in prison for the continuous sexual assault of a child. David Jose Armenta, Jr. pled guilty in the 97th District Court on Monday to six counts, and sentenced to 18-year terms on each charge, to run concurrently.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Armenta, 37, had intercourse with a 15-year-old girl on several occasions over a period of five months at a residence on North Main Street in Henrietta. Evidence presented in the affidavit indicates the assaults began in May 2013.
On Oct. 10, 2013, the mother of the victim came into the house to find Armenta running from the victim’s bedroom into a bathroom while wearing no clothes from the waist down, and found her daughter covering herself in the bedroom. The victim’s mother confronted Armenta in the bathroom, asking how long the sexual relationship had been going on. Armenta answered two months, then three months, and said the relationship was consensual.
The victim told investigators that Arementa had sexually assaulted her “many times” since May 2013. She said she did not report the assaults because she was in fear for her safety, and the safety of her family members.
During the confrontation, Armenta told the victim and her mother that he would disappear, and they would never see him again, stated the affidavit. He then left the residence. Armenta was arrested Oct. 12, 2013, and has since remained in custody.
