10 reach plea agreements

The 97th District Court accepted plea agreements from 10 defendants on Monday, July 21.

David Jose Armenta, Jr. — Six counts sexual assault of a child, a second-degree felony, for an Oct. 10 offense. Armenta was sentenced to five terms of 18 years each in prison, to run concurrently. He was credited with 282 days served.

Chad William Cox — Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than 1 gram, a state jail felony, for a Jan. 28, 2013 offense. Cox sentenced to five years probation, fined $1,500 and must pay $140 in restitution. He was credited with five days served.

Justin Richard Zambelli — Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, more than 4 grams, less than 400 grams, a second-degree felony, for a July 5, 2013 offense. Zambelli was sentenced to three years community supervision, fined $1,500 and must pay $180 in restitution.

Donald J. Svita — Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, more than 4 grams, less than 400 grams, a second-degree felony, for a March 27, 2013 offense. Svita was sentenced to three years community supervision, fined $1,500 and must pay $180 in restitution.

Hunter Joshua Jones — Theft of property, more than $1,500, less than $20,000, a state jail felony, for a Feb. 5 offense. Jones was sentenced to two years community supervision and fined $1,500.

Parker James Lever — Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, more than 4 grams, less than 400 grams, a second-degree felony, for a July 5, 2013 offense. Lever was sentenced to three years community supervision, fined $1,500 and must pay $180 in restitution.

Christopher Adam Giles — Driving while intoxicated, third or more, a third-degree felony, for a Nov. 21 offense. Giles was sentenced to five years community supervision, fined $2,500 and must pay $60 restitution. He was credited 25 days served.

Devin Cole Holland — Prohibited weapon, a third-degree felony, for a Feb. 13 offense. Holland was sentenced to two years community supervision and fined $1,000.

Dion DeMarcus Clark — Possession of marijuana, more than 4 ounces, less than 5 pounds, a state jail felony, for a Feb. 10, 2013 offense. Clark was sentenced to five years community supervision, fined $2,500 and must pay $140 in restitution. He was credited two days served.

Fredrick Edward Terrell — Unauthorized use of a vehicle, a state jail felony, for a Jan. 14 offense. Terrell was sentenced to 20 months in state jail, credited 190 days served.
