Russell E. McIlroy of Clarksville, Tenn.


First Sgt. Russell Eugene McIlroy, 53, of Clarksville, Tenn., passed away on July 8, 2014.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21 at the chapel of Hampton Vaughan Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Bitner officiating.

Russell was born July 20, 1960 in Wichita Falls to R.E. “Gene” and Covie Price McIlroy of Joll. He married Deborah Bogart on March 2, 1979 in Wichita Falls. He served 32 years in the U.S. Army. He was inducted into The Honorable Order of Saint Barbara and was a Bronze Star recipient who served in Afghanistan. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville, Tenn.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia McIlroy Scoggins; and  grandparents, Claude McIlroy and Mae Ethel Byrd McIlroy, and Herman Price and Odell Browning Price.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Bogart McIlroy; sons, David McIlroy of Wichita Falls, and Michael McIlroy of Rosharon; and four grandchildren.
