Lindy and Deanna Choate of Byers celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday, June 13.

Royce Lyndon “Lindy” Choate married Deanna Camp on June 13, 1964 in Wichita Falls. Lindy and Deanna have two children, Landis Choate Felts of Fort Worth and Todd Choate of Henrietta, and four grandchildren.

Lindy is commissioner of Clay County Precinct 1, and a retired farmer and rancher. He served two terms as a Nine Man Board member and is a past vice president of the Clay County Pioneer Association. He has served on the Clay County committee for the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service, and is a firmer member of the Byers ISD school board.

Deanna is active in the Byers Improvement Group and the Queen’s Float Committee for the Clay County Pioneer Reunion and Rodeo. She is a former president of the Byers Booster Club and a former officer for the Byers PTA.

Lindy and Deanna are members of the First Baptist Church of Byers.
