Five plea guilty to crimes

The 97th District Court accepted plea agreements from five defendants on Monday, June 16.

Derrick Winford Hill — Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than 1 gram, a state jail felony, for an April 12, 2013 offense. Hill was sentenced to three years community supervision, fined $1,500 and required to pay $180 in restitution.

Robert Frederick Vandyke — Possession of marijuana in an amount greater than 5 pounds but less than 50 pounds, a third-degree felony, for a Dec. 2 offense. Vandyke was sentenced to five years probation, fined $2,000 and required to pay $180 in restitution. He was credited 197 days time served.

Willis Ashley Tyler — Possession of marijuana in an amount greater than 5 pounds but less than 50 pounds, a third-degree felony, for a Dec. 2 offense. Tyler was sentenced to five years community supervision, fined $2,000 and required to pay $180 in restitution. He was credited 197 days time served.

Robert Lester Smith — Possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than 1 gram, a state jail felony, for a May 21, 2013 offense. Smith was sentenced to 18 months community supervision, fined $1,000 and required to pay $180 in restitution.

Keith Whitson Ryckoff — Driving while intoxicated with a child under the age of 15, a state jail felony, for an Oct. 25 offense. Ryckoff was sentenced to one year in state jail, and credited with 234 days served. He is required to pay $60 in restitution.
