Petrolia High School Class of 2014


Joey Trevino is co-valedictorian of the Petrolia High School Class of 2014, along with Heather Goolsby who represents a portion of the student body that attended Byers High School prior to consolidation. Jennifer Holt is salutatorian.

Petrolia CISD will hold graduation ceremonies at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 31 in the high school auditorium.

Trevino graduates with a grade average of 100.48, and will attend the University of North Texas, Denton, in the fall with plans of earning a degree in accounting. He is the son of Cippi Trevino of Petrolia and Barbara Trevino of Wichita Falls.

During his time at Petrolia High School, Trevino has been active in community and volunteer work, including the NHS Motorcycle Fun Run, blood drives, work with the food pantry, Katie’s Kids Kamp, Adopt-a-Highway, the Foster Care Association, Toys for Tots and Walk of Knowledge. He participates in his churches praise and worship band and student discipleship.   Trevino has been a member of the National Honor Society since he was a sophomore, and has competed at the state level in UIL accounting and mathematics. He has participated in band and served and football for four years; and basketball, tennis and track for three years. He is a four-year member of the student council and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

Goolsby graduates with a grade average of 98.05, and will attend Midwestern State University in the fall with plans of obtaining a degree in engineering. She is the daughter of Bruce and Kim Goolsby of Petrolia.

Goolsby has been involved in sheep and goat production, ag mechanics and horse judging through FFA, Beta Club, National Honor Society, yearbook, one act play, and competed in UIL Academics in history and current events. She donates her time to Katie’s Kids Kamp and the Clay County Senior Citizens Prom.

Holt graduates with a grade average of 99.49, and will attend MSU majoring in psychology. She is the daughter of Dewayne and Linda Holt of Wichita Falls.

Holt has been involved in one act play, earning the all-star cast award. She is an accomplished member of the PHS band, an active member of the National Honor Society and devotes much of her time to bettering the community through service projects.
