Henrietta pitcher and short stop Conner Fletcher signed a letter of intent Tuesday to play baseball for Vernon College.
The senior Bearcat expects to fill a relief role on the mound for the Chaparrals next season with hopes of moving into the starting rotation.
Fletcher was a first team all-district selection in 2013 as a utility player, and in 2012 as designated hitter. All-district selection for 2014 have not been released.
Fletcher finished his senior season with a .232 batting average, scattering 16 singles, five doubles and a triple for 19 RBIs. On the mound, Fletcher finished the year with a .913 ERA on 7.2 innings of relief. He pitched 12 strikeouts, allowing four hits, four runs and walked six.
The Bearcats went 20-10, finishing the season with a bi-district championship.
