B.V. Armstrong of Deer Creek


B.V. Armstrong, 91, of Deer Creek, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2014 in Wichita Falls.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 20 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta with B.D. Wynn officiating. Burial will be in the Deer Creek Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Armstrong was born Oct. 7, 1922 in Collin County to Zack and Mattie (Watson) Armstrong. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Gwen Windle on Oct. 11, 1941 in Henrietta, and was married for 66 years. Mr. Armstrong was farmer and rancher and worked in the Oil Field. He was a member of the Joy Methodist Church.

Mr. Armstrong is preceded in death by his wife Gwen; one grandson, Jerry Wayne Armstrong, Jr.; and three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include three sons, B.V. Armstrong, Jr. and his wife Linda of Bedis, Jackie Armstrong and his wife Alice of Deer Creek, and Jerry Armstrong and his wife Donna of Deer Creek; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the Deer Creek Cemetery Association, 812 Armstrong Rd., Henrietta, Texas 76365; or Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. Monday.
