Henrietta Junior High School sponsored the Lone Star Book Reading Contest for seventh and eighth grade students during the 2013-14 school year. Students reading eight or more books from the list of current Lone Star Books were eligible to participate in a special award luncheon.

Contest participants were recognized at the luncheon on Friday, May 9. Eighth grade participants in attendance were Dakota Cook and Garrett Duncan. Seventh grade participants in attendance were Leah Bullinger, Camrin Byers and Kenny Bender.

Special guests were Mrs. Nicki Holbert, school counselor; Mrs. Reesa Blackburn, seventh grade language arts teacher; Ms. Martha Bachman, eighth grade English teacher; Mrs. Mandy Story, media director; and Mrs. Robbin Avenius, HJH media center.
