Midway students compete in regional UIL academics

Austin Van Pelt, Kaylee Trentham, Jorden Mass and Cole Thorn represented Midway High School at regional UIL Academics competition on May 3.

Five students represented Midway High School at the Class A regional UIL academic meet in Abilene on Saturday, May 3.

Freshman Austin Van Pelt, senior Jorden Mass and freshman Cole Thorn competed as a team in social studies, while Mass and freshman Kaylee Trentham competed as individuals in  feature writing.

Van Pelt, Mass and Thorn qualified for regionals by placing first at district competition in Bryson on March 19. Mass also took first place in feature writing at the district level, followed by Trentham in second place.
