Five to represent Midway at regional UIL academics contests


Midway High School will be represented by five students at the regional UIL Academics competition in Abilene May 3.

The social studies team of Austin Van Pelt, Jorden Mass, Cole Thorn and Aaron Uselton took first place in district competition, held March 19 in Bryson. Van Pelt earned first high-point individual, qualifying for regional competition as an individual.

Mass and Kaylee Trentham qualified for regionals as individual competitors in feature writing. Mass placed first in feature writing, followed by Trentham in second place.

Adam Schobert also competed in the district meet, taking fifth place in computer applications.
