Edith Pauline Freeman of Charlie


Edith “Edie” Pauline Freeman, 78, of Charlie, passed away Wednesday, April 9, 2014.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m., Saturday, April 12 in the Charlie Cemetery with Mr. Murl Nelms and Mr. Mike Priddy of Byers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Freeman was born June 26, 1935 in Kellerville to Rolin and Lillian Higdon. She married Joe Bob Freeman on Feb. 16, 1961 and was a member of the Petrolia Church of Christ. Mrs. Freeman owned and operated Freeman Grocery in Charlie for many years. She was known for her delicious hamburgers sold there. She took in many kids over the years to help raise. Mrs. Freeman gave all she had to everyone, she lived a selfless life.

She is preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Bob Freeman; two sons, Michael Freeman and Mark Freeman; five grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Friday, April 11 from 6-7 p.m.
