Henrietta woman charged with online impersonation, fraud

A Henrietta woman accused of pretending to be her teenage daughter is in the Wichita County Jail on charges of online impersonation. She also faces charges in Clay County of fraudulent use of identifying information.

Investigators believe Renee Michelle Brown, 50, used her daughters name and information to ope accounts with a credit card company, electric provider and cell phone company. Brown was booked into the Wichita County Jail on Monday, April 7.

Brown was arrested in March by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Brown’s daughter told deputies that her mother opened a Google Plus account in the girl’s name and posted photos of girls similar in appearance doing things that are questionable or illegal, such as smoking marijuana.

Brown posted bail in Clay County, but remains in the Wichita County Jail with bond set at $10,000.
