Seven Henrietta FFA members were awarded a total of $32,000 in scholarships for their hard work throughout the 2013 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo Calf Scramble program.  Kolton Beeler received $8,000 along with Austyn Jones, Corby Henry-Morrison, Josey Cleveland, Lindsey Crafton, Masey Baber and Skee Burkes receiving $4,000 each.

The Henrietta recipients were selected from a pool of 4-H and FFA members throughout the state that caught calves during the 2013 Fort Worth Rodeo calf scramble event. Scholarships were awarded based on the student’s quality of monthly reports and a final essay they submitted to their scramble sponsor in this yearlong activity.

Participation in calf scramble programs provides students a hands on means for real world experiences involving personal leadership, oral and written communications, animal husbandry and financial record keeping.
