Leta May Hargrove, 99, of Bowie, passed away on Tuesday, April 1, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday, April 4 at the Joy Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Henson pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bowie, officiating. Burial will be in the Joy Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta. 

Mrs. Hargrove was born Sept. 19, 1914 in Prospect to Reuben Watson and Lillie May (Gifford) Slaughter. She married Leonard “Tim” Hargrove on July 27, 1933 in Buffalo Springs. She was a homemaker and a member of the Joy United Methodist Church. 

Mrs. Hargrove is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard “Tim” Hargrove; two sons, Jon Hargrove, and Don Hargrove; and a brother, Worsham Slaughter. 

Survivors include three sons, Larry Hargrove and wife Jackie of Bowie, Ron Hargrove and wife Barbara of Richardson, and Tom Hargrove and wife Lora of Wichita Falls; a daughter-in-law, Sherry Hargrove of Big Spring; five grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. 

Memorials can be made to the Joy Cemetery, Mandy Story, 908 E. Ikard, Henrietta, Texas 76365. 

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday.
