Lady Pirate bats make quick work of Childress in run-rule win

Petrolia’s Katie Cummings tallied eight strikeouts in three innings Saturday, but it was the Lady Pirate bats that made short work of Childress in the run-rule win.

PHS-Softball-GraphicPetrolia defeated Childress 16-0, scoring eight runs in each of the first and second innings. Cummings allowed one hit and one walk.

Kirsten Kenyon finished with four RBIs, while Coty Chase and Kayla Heflin batted in three runs each. Sidney Mobley had two RBIs. Kody Mataska, Cummings and Kaylee King had one RBI each.

Kenyon went 2 for 3 at the plate with one home run and a double. Cummings finished 2 for 3 with a pair of doubles. King was 3 for 3 with a double. Heflin, Chase and Mobley also doubled. Chase and Mobley had two stolen bases each, while Macy Ridinger stole one.

With the win, Petrolia improves to 11-4-1 for the season.
