Tylor Brown, a senior outfielder at Henrietta High School, signed a letter of intent Monday to play baseball at Central Christian College of Kansas.

Brown is a second-year starter for the varsity Bearcats, and earned a second-team all district nod in his first season with the team. With this year’s pre-district schedule wrapped up, the right-hander batted .419 with 13 RBIs. Brown leads the Bearcats in slugging percentage with .806, and has a fielding percentage of .786.

Brown was contacted by Central Christian last summer, one day after returning home from a summer showcase in Edmond, Okla. The NAIA college in McPherson, Kans., offered Brown an athletic and academic scholarship.

“I debated on it for a good couple of weeks, and took their offer,” said Brown.

Henrietta opens District 8-2A tonight in Nocona. Game time is 5 p.m. The Bearcats enter district play with an 11-4 record.
