Guy Mayo of Petrolia


Guy Mayo, 64, of Petrolia, passed away on Saturday, March 8.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 15 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta with Mr. Joe Davidson of Byers officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home.

Mr. Mayo was born July 18, 1949 in Clay County to J.H. “Goat”, Sr., and Lorraine (Lyons) Mayo. He graduated from Petrolia High School in 1967 where he was an avid basketball player. Mr. Mayo in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a rancher and a member of the Texas Cattle Raisers Association. Mr. Mayo also raised bucking bulls and was an oilman.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Wendell, Ray and Sonny Mayo.

Survivors include two sons, Clay Mayo of Petrolia, and Chad Mayo and wife Lorie of Comanche, Okla.; one daughter, Victoria Mayo of Wichita Falls; one step-son, Sam Morris and wife Kim of Petrolia; and four grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 15 at Davis Funeral Home.

Memorials can be made to the Petrolia VFD and Petrolia Senior Citizens Center.
