Weaver leads Lady Cats with multiple gold medals at Nocona


Lady Cat Kamryn Weaver earned a pair of gold medals in individual competition and another as a member of the Henrietta 1,600-meter relay team Thursday in Nocona at the Indian Relays.

The Lady Cats finished second place in the team standings.

Weaver finished first in the 100 hurdles with a time of 16.31 seconds, and in the 400 with a time of 70.91. The sophomore Lady Cat ran the final leg of the 1,600 relay with Anni Scholl, Kenzie Kirk and Joyana Zamzow. The team finished in 4 minutes, 30.0 seconds.

Henriett’s 800 relay also brought home gold medals. The team of Callie Page, Kirk, Zamzow and Scholl finished in 1:56.34.

Zamzow earned an individual gold in the 300 hurdles with a finish of 53.43, placed second in triple jump with a distance of 33 feet, 5 inches, and finished sixth in long jump with 15 feet.

Kirk followed Weaver with a second place finish in the 100 hurdles, with a time of 16.63. Kirk placed fourth in long jump with a distance of 15-5.5.

Mahala Womack finished fourth in the 800 with a time of 2:53.79, and fifth in the 400 with 70.91. Page finished fourth in the 200 with 29.63, and sixth in the 100 with 13.7. Casey Gill took sixth place in the 3,200 meter run.
