Burkhart, Weaver earn gold in high jump, 400 at season’s first meet


Henrietta’s varsity Lady Cats traveled to Paradise Feb. 27 for the first track and field meet of the season, earning third place in the team standings.

Sierra Burkhart earned gold in high jump, clearing 5 feet, while Kamryn Weaver earned first place in the 400-meter race with a time of 64.08 seconds.

Kenzie Kirk took first place in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.37, followed by Weaver in second place with 17.75.

Lacey Webb took second place in the 100 with a time of 14.12, and ran first leg in the third place 400-meter relay with teammates Kirk, Callie Page and Hollie Thomas.

The Lady Cat 800 and 1,600 relay teams also earned third place finishes. Page, Kirk, Anni Scholl and Joyana Zamzow finished the 800 relay in 1:57. Thomas, Scholl, Weaver and Zamzow finished the 1,600 in 4:49.2.

Zamzow earned bronze in triple jump with 33 feet, 4.5 inches. Kirk placed fifth in long jump with 15-6.

In junior varsity competition, Mackenzie White took third place in shot put with 25-9, while Addie McDonnell placed sixth in the 400 with a time of 74.81.
