Wind Advisory: Gusts of 45-55 mph possible

The National Weather Service in Norman, Okla., has issued a wind advisory for Western North Texas and Southern Oklahoma, including Clay County, effective from 6 a.m. until 3 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20.

Winds of 30-40 miles-per-hour, with gusts of 45-55 mph, are possible.

The NWS warns of hazardous driving conditions for high-profile and light-weight vehicles, especially on east-west roads. Winds approaching 60 mph are capable of minor damage to structures and trees.

Fire danger also remains a concern as high winds would accelerate wildfires. Clay County remains in a burn ban.
