Joe W. “Jake” Gray of Henrietta


Joe W. “Jake” Gray, 84, of Henrietta, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 22 at Hope Cemetery in Henrietta with Brother Jim Strickland, pastor of the Texoma Cowboy Church in Wichita Falls, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Gray was born Oct. 27, 1929 in Manitou, Okla., to Wesley Thomas and Mary Fannie (Hunter) Gray. He married Reba Burch on July 11, 1953 in Reno, Nev. Mr. Gray served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and worked as a Mechanic for Sheppard Air Force Base for 28 years.

He is was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Gray of Henrietta; three sons, Terry Gray and wife Darcy of Grandfield, Okla., Brent Gray and wife Lou Ann of Henrietta, and Greg Gray and wife Becky of Henrietta; one daughter, Gloria Scroggins and Rodney Jones of Henrietta; four brothers, Wesley Gray and wife Glenda of Albuquerque, N.M., Howard Gray and wife Barbara of Moore, Okla., Harold Gray of Grandfield, Okla., and Gary Gray and wife Judith of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren;

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. Friday evening, Feb. 21.
