Genevieve Kelley of Henrietta


Genevieve Kelley, 90, of Henrietta, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014.

Memorial services will be 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21 at the First Baptist Church of Henrietta with Rev. Randy Osborn and Rev. Howard Walker officiating. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta. 

Mrs. Kelley was born Jan. 10, 1924 in Halsell to Douglas Colvin and Idylee (Childs) Dugger. She graduated from Henrietta High School in 1941 and married Davis Kelley on May 9, 1946 in Henrietta. Mrs. Kelley worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for 18 years, and owned and operated Genevieve’s Dress Shop for 25 years. Mrs. Kelley was a member of the B.Y.P Union in Bluegrove and a member of the First Baptist Church of Henrietta.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Davis Kelley; and a son, James (Jim) Kelley.
Survivors include one grandson, Douglas Davis Kelley of Norman, Okla.; three sisters, Mary Jean Fleming and husband Clancy of Kilgore, Bobbie Wilson and husband Graham of Henrietta, and Lee Ann Greer and husband Dr. T. David Greer of Henrietta; and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made to the Bluegrove Cemetery Association, 2209 Neville Road, Henrietta, Texas 76365; the Clay County Memorial Hospital Foundation, 102 S. Archer St. Henrietta, Texas 76365; the First Baptist Church of Henrietta, P.O. Box 544, Henrietta, Texas 76365; or the Hope Cemetery Foundation, P.O. Box 37, Henrietta, Texas 76365.
