Bill Hambry of Petrolia


Bill Hamby, 82, of Petrolia, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 8 at the Dean Baptist Church with Rev. Shawn Bitner, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Petrolia Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Hamby was born on June 10, 1931 in Quanah to Truman and Lillian (Jarrad) Hamby. He served in the U.S. Army and worked as a union carpenter. He married Ruby Ebers on April 12, 1980 in Petrolia.

Mr. Hamby is preceded in death by one sister, “Kat” Foster; and three brothers, Lynn Hamby, Wayne Hamby and Dick Hamby.

Survivors include his wife Ruby Hamby of Petrolia; two daughters, Dian Winkler and husband J.R. of Anadarko, Okla., and Tammy Einhaus of Petrolia; three brothers, Kenneth Hamby and wife Marlene of Miami, Texas, Jerry Hamby of Wellington, and Buddy Hamby and wife Lila of Amarillo; four grandsons and three great-granddaughters.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home from 6-7 p.m. Friday.
