Dorothy Watts Parker of Austin


Dorothy Watts Parker, 94, of Austin, passed away Jan. 20, 2014.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25 in the Bluegrove Cemetery with Mr. Joe Williams of Henrietta officiating. A reception will follow at the Bluegrove Community Center.

Mrs. Parker was born Oct. 5, 1919 in Bluegrove to T.J. and Kate (Peirce) Watts, Clay County pioneers.

She and Carl Dee Parker were married Feb. 5, 1941 and were together 54 years. She graduated from Henrietta High School in 1937. After graduation, she took business courses. She worked for several concerns, lastly Wichita Falls Credit Union. She was a member of the Joy United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Dee Parker; a daughter, Jan Fussell; and five siblings

Survivors include a son, Dr. Steve Parker and wife Kris of Austin; and three grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the Bluegrove Cemetery Association, 2209 Neville Road, Henrietta, Texas 76365.
