Pierce Sales received The Better Business Bureau of North Central Texas Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence in the large business category. The Henrietta business received the award during a luncheon Tuesday, Jan. 21 at the Wichita Falls Country Club.

During the summer of 2013, Pierce Sales was nominated for the BBB Torch Awards in the large business category (a business with more than 20 employees). Nominees are tasked to create an extensive presentation showcasing their reputation in the community and commitment to ethical management, sales and marketing practices. An independent panel of judges, made up of various community leaders, look at how the company engages its customers, employees and the larger community. They also must meet BBB ethical, advertising and selling standards.

Pierce Sales highlighted their commitment to the customer, honesty, teamwork and being a community advocate.

“We were so excited just to be a finalist in the large business category,” says Ginger Schaffner, Pierce operations manager. “It is an honor to receive a prestigious award like The BBB Torch Award. We look forward to sharing the Torch Award with our team and partners in our industry.”

“This was our second time to be nominated for the BBB Torch Award. I am so grateful to our team and their hard work – they really made this award happen,” says Jeff Pierce, Pierce owner and CEO. “Pierce Sales has evolved over the years but what hasn’t changed is our commitment to our customer. I always say, ‘to make a sale, you have to make a friend first.’ To be good friends, you have to have a relationship built on trust. The Torch Award is a beacon of trust and marketplace excellence that we are proud to embody.”

The top awards went to Law Office of Gregory Underwood P.C. for the Small Category, AAA Guardian Foundation Repair for the Medium Category, and Rathgeber Hospitality House in the Non-Profit Category. The BBB presented winners with a crystal trophy that they can display and the winners promote their status in advertising, marketing and on their websites.

Pierce Sales began in 1976 in consignment sales and has grown to include manufacturing, conversions, retail and wholesale. The company manufactures winches, dump kits, bale spikes, twist locks, and more under the Pierce Arrow brand. Pierce Sales is a regional convertor and reseller of work truck equipment and accessories in the towing, landscape, oil field and farm/ranch industries. The company’s mission is to serve the customer with the best of service and quality of products at a competitive price while holding true to the values embedded in the company.
