Virginia “MiMi” (Leslie) Corona, 90, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2014 in Dallas.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, January 20 at the First Baptist Church of Henrietta. Burial will be in the Hope Cemetery in Henrietta under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Coron was born Sept. 22, 1923 in Lone Star. She was one of 12 children. She retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she was one of the first women to receive a position previously occupied by a man. She volunteered with the Southwestern Bell Pioneers. She owned and operated a successful women’s apparel shop. She was a member of the Park Cities Baptist Church and of the Eastern Star.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Corona; three sisters, Emma Jewell Lyde, Beatrice Browning and Gladys Frey; four brothers, Pat Leslie, Hugh Leslie, Jr., Charlie Leslie and Ben Leslie; and two infant siblings.

Survivors include, one daughter, Diane Morris and husband Wade; one son, Gary Corona and wife Detta; one sister, Peggy Wineinger; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
