Shirley Mae Liggett of Wichita Falls


Shirley Mae Liggett, 60, of Wichita Falls died Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 6 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta. Burial will be in the Bellevue Cemetery under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Ms. Liggett was born April 24, 1953 in Nocona to Milton Thomas Liggett and Mildred Liggett Gannon. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1971. She was married Nov. 12, 1973 to Timothy Morris Eckhart. She was a Certified Dietary Manager at the Presbyterian Manor and a certified member of the National Association of Nutrition and Food Service Professionals. She was once a Wilton Cake Decorating Instructor at Michaels Arts & Crafts.

Shirley had the distinct honor of being one of the first Dietary Managers to help serve its very first resident their first meal when the Presbyterian Manor opened its doors in February of 1980. Since that time Shirley was instrumental in every facet of the Dietary’s growth and development, and played a key role in the nutritional care and management of all the residents in the Health Care Facility.

Survivors include her mother, Mildred Liggett Gannon of Henrietta; two daughters, Felicia Garza and Morrissa Sells, both of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Naomi Mara Liggett of Henrietta and Leeanna Liggett of Knoxville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren.
