New construction could soon be underway in the Wester Estate addition of Henrietta after the Henrietta Growth Corporation approved an agreement Monday night with builder Steve Bachman.
Bachman shared plans with the board for a three-bedroom brick home similar to other houses his company, Brick Saver, Inc., has built in Henrietta, including two homes on Rebecca Street.
The new construction will be located at 1436 Lariat Trail. HGC will retain ownership of the lot until the home is completed, and will be a lien holder second the the bank. The HGC will receive payment for the lot once Brick Saver, Inc., sales the house.
Bachman intends to start construction as soon as he can close on the property. The agreement will be put before the Henrietta City Council for final approval.
In a report to the HGC board of directors, Henrietta Economic Development Director Rick Langford praised The Pecan Shed’s newly opened Henrietta location. Open since Oct. 30, the Pecan Shed is already meeting its 10-year average for fuel sales as set by the distributor, and is within reach of having 12 full-time employees as required by the HGC in its first two years of operation.
Langford said Victron Energy remains in negotiations with landowners at the intersection of Hwy. 148 South and Hwy. 287 with intentions of building a travel center. He also has been in contact with SFN Associates, a company that has purchased a large tract of land approximately seven miles south of Henrietta Hwy. 287 for the construction of a manufacturing facility. Langford has a nondisclosure agreement with the company, but said it could announce plans in the immediate future.
