Troopers investigate a one-vehicle rollover that killed a Scotland woman Monday afternoon.

A Scotland woman died and a male passenger was seriously injured Monday afternoon in a one-vehicle rollover on FM 172.

The accident occurred 7 ½ miles west of Bluegrove at approximately 5 p.m. The driver of the vehicle, Vanessa Bolf, 44, died at the scene. Samuel “Sammy” Wolf, 49, of Scotland, was transported by helicopter to a Wichita Falls hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The driver and passenger were not wearing seatbelts. Both were ejected from the vehicle.

DPS Trooper Ben Wolf said it appears the 1999 Honda CRV driven by Bolf veered from the road on a curve and the driver overcorrected, causing the vehicle to roll three or four times. The vehicle came to a rest in a pasture approximately 150 feet from the roadway.

First responders from the Joy, Bluegrove and Scotland volunteer fire departments responded to the accident, as well as a TPWD Game Warden and deputies from Archer County Sheriff’s Office.
