A Wichita Falls man was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for injuries received in a one-vehicle rollover near Jolly Thursday morning.

Clarence Muehlberger, 63, suffered injuries to his ribs and a cut on his head in the accident. State Trooper Ben Wolf said Muehlberger was wearing his seatbelt.

Muehlberger was traveling north on Hwy. 287 approximately one-quarter mile south of Jolly in a 2004 Chevrolet half-ton pickup. The vehicle veered off of the right side of a curve in the road near the FM 2393 exit. The pickup struck a culvert head-on, causing the vehicle to roll end over end.

First responders from the Jolly Volunteer Fire Department freed the man from the vehicle by cutting away the front windshield.

The accident occurred at 7:55 a.m. Muehlberger was returning home from work. Wolf said it appears that the driver fell asleep.
