Henrietta FFA’s broadcasting team qualified for state competition by finishing second in the Nov. 26 Area IV FFA leadership competitions at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. Team members are Laramie Dunn, Lindsey Crafton, Caden Robinson and Rody Fenoglio.
FFA broadcasting is a competition for three or four member teams that will present a six to eight minute broadcast over a radio microphone on a topic that is part of the current Agriculture education curriculum. The Henrietta team chose the topic of bears in Texas, discussing the possible return of black bears to our part of state.
FFA Broadcasting is just one of the many, competitive events members have the opportunity to participate in. FFA events focus on creating “real life” conditions for members to demonstrate their abilities in public speaking, decision making, communication and knowledge taught in agricultural science classroom.
The state FFA LDE competition will be Dec. 6-7 at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville. Sam Houston State University has partnered with Texas FFA in hosting these competitions for over more than 70 years.
