Billy Moffett of Byers


Billy Austin Moffett, 82, of Byers, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 9 in Henrietta.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the First Baptist Church of Byers with Rev. Ken Johannan, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Byers under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mr. Moffett was born Aug. 31, 1931 in Sherman to Edward Austin and Alice Lucille (Robbins) Moffett. He was a Farmer and a member of the First Baptist Church of Byers, where he served as a deacon. He married Arlene (Welch) Spikes on March 29, 1992 in Byers.

He is preceded in death by one son, Johnny and his first wife, Vermeil (Sharp) Moffett.

Survivors include his wife, Arlene Moffett of Byers; one Daughter, Kathy Westmorland and her husband Gary of Byers; four sons, Billy Spikes of Wichita Falls, James Spikes of Pleasant Valley, Andy Spikes of Petrolia, and Adam Spikes and wife Amy of Wichita Falls; a sister, Linda Berry and husband Carlos of Henrietta; Nine grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; one sister.

The family will be at Davis Funeral Home on Monday from 6:30-7:30 p.m.
