Louise ‘Tiny’ Skelton of Joy


Louise “Tiny” Skelton, 76, of Joy, passed away on Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Monday, Nov. 4 at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Henrietta with Rev. Billy Waller, pastor of the Pleasant Mound Freewill Baptist Church of Buffalo Springs, officiating. Burial will be in the Briar Creek Cemetery in Bowie under the direction of Davis Funeral Home of Henrietta.

Mrs. Skelton was born on Sept. 16, 1937 in Montague County. She married Gene Skelton on March 29, 1954 in Midland. She was a homemaker and a respiratory therapy technician. She was a member of the Pleasant Mound Freewill Baptist Church of Buffalo Springs.

Mrs. Skelton is preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Love and James Prohascha; and a grandson, Forrest Turner.

Survivors include her husband of 59 years, William “Gene” Skelton of Joy; two daughters, Kelly O’Dell and husband Sammy of Joy, and Chris Turner and husband Danny of Fayetteville, Ark.; two sons, Clay Skelton and wife Christy of Joy, and David Skelton and wife Terri of Wichita Falls; two brothers, Jimmy Love and wife JoAnn of Mobeetie, and Sonny Love and wife Judy of Bowie; three sisters, Leota Sherbet and husband Hoyt of Bugscuffle, Cookie Cantrell of Bowie, and Joan Prohascha of Plano; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Memorials can be made to the Joy Volunteer Fire Department, 910 FM 173, Henrietta, Texas 76365; or to Hospice of Wichita Falls, P.O. Box 4804, Wichita Falls, Texas 76308.
