Lady Cats advance in playoffs with bi-district sweep of Eastland


Henrietta’s varsity Lady Cats continued their win streak Monday night with a bi-district title, defeating Eastland in three sets — 25-9, 25-10, 25-10.

The Lady Cats, ranked ninth in state by the Texas Girls Coaches Association, will face the winner of Tuesday’s bi-district match between Kermit and Wall.

Joyana Zamzow finished with five kills, eight aces and six digs in the match, while Anni Scholl scored nine kills and had five digs. Kailey Kirk scored four kills. Taylor Bennett had three kills and four aces. Addison Wade scored four kills. Kenzie Kirl finished with five aces and 10 set assists, while Katie Halsell had five aces and 11 set assists. Cassie Pickett finished with eight digs.
