Clay County Constable Ronnie Pullin and his wife, Rhona “Ginger” Pullin, of Thornberry, were arrested Monday night and booked into the Archer County jail.
Charges against Ronnie Pullin, 45, and Rhona Pullin, 48, were not immediately available. Both were released on bail Monday. The constable’s bond was set at $80,000.
The arrest follows a weeks-long investigation by Texas Ranger investigators into allegations of fraud.
Pullin is in his first term as constable. The Republican was elected in November 2012 on straight-party votes, defeating longtime constable Toby Davis, a Democrat. He began his term Jan. 1.
