Nine indictments handed down

A Clay County grand jury handed down nine indictments on Monday, Oct. 21, including two sealed indictments.

Martin David Valverde faces two indictments. Valverde was indicted for driving while intoxicated, third offense, a third-degree felony, for an Aug. 18 offense. He was convicted of DWI in Wichita County Oct. 19, 2000, and again on April 11, 2002. Bond was set at $15,000.

The grand jury also indicted Valverde for possession of a firearm by a felon, a third-degree felony, discovered on Aug. 18. Bond was set at $10,000.

Reba Joy Pickett has been indicted for driving while intoxicated, third or more offense, a third-degree felony, for a June 15 offense. Pickett was convicted of DWI July 14, 1988 in Wichita County, and again July 10, 1990 in Wichita County. Bond was set at $10,000.

Kenneth Guy McKenzie has been indicted for possession of marijuana, more than 5 pounds, less than 50 pounds, a third-degree felony, for a Sept. 9 offense. Bond was set at $7,500.

Carl James Laborde has been indicted for possession of marijuana, more than 4 ounces, less than 5 pounds, a state jail felony, for a Sept. 9 offense. Bond was set at $5,000.

Chad William Cox has been indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penal group 1, methamphetamine, less than 1 gram, a state jail felony, for a Jan. 28 offense. Bond was set at $10,000.

Willie Earl Clark has been indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penal group 2, morethan 1 gram, less than 4 grams, a third-degree felony, for a Dec. 13 offense. Bond was set at $15,000.

Robert Lee Clark has been indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penal group 2, morethan 1 gram, less than 4 grams, a third-degree felony, for a Dec. 13 offense. Bond was set at $15,000.
